Blog #1: At least it's not dodgeball...

Hello Class! It would be cool to meet you all in person, but scanning the roster, I see I know some of you already from the past year of classes.

My name is Ryan Tyler, a first generation American from Michigan — my parents came from the former Yugoslavia to escape communism. I come from a very large family of 8 sisters and 4 brothers, I fall about in the middle. I moved to Dallas in 1988 and graduated from Richardson HS in 1990. I've been married for 15.5 years and currently live in downtown Lakewood. I grew up when we actually sat around the table together every morning and evening, and talked with each other. I played outside without worry, I just had to be home when the street lights came on. On school nights, we were in bed by 8pm.

After a semester of college in the fall of '90, I decided working was a better choice for me. I have been a graphic artist for 10 years, marketing manager for 7 and Director of Creative Services for the last 7 years. Feel free to browse my background on LinkedIn (links below). Due to the accelerated rate of decline of print graphics, my entire department was laid off last February. I decided to come back to school full-time to get my EMAC degree focusing on Social Media Marketing and UX/UI.

If I'm not on campus, I'm at Union Coffee or Mudsmith doing homework. I admit I am still quite old-school when it comes to getting my information. I watch the news every morning while getting ready for class. I listen to KRLD most of the time when I'm driving to and from class. I read BBC & NPR news on my iPhone, iPad or laptop. I only use Facebook and Twitter for my blog feeds, and Instagram for my random personal posts about twice a month. I find little value in letting my friends and family know what I'm having for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day or posting selfies every other minute. I prefer the phone or face-to-face conversation versus texting; but I'm working on that in the digital age.

Likes
I love sci-fi/fantasy movies, food (I'm vegan), the pool, and reading an actual physical book. My top 3 favorite vacations were Paris for 2 weeks during their Bastille Day; 2 weeks in Maui; and a 2 week driving trip from Dallas to Vancouver, down the west coast and back to Dallas by way of Carlsbad Caverns. I love being outside, and whenever possible I drive with the top down on my car. I like the snow as well and would ski over Spring Break; my favorite spot is Winterpark, CO.

Dislikes
Dodgeball — but in reality — all sports that require the use of a circular object; rude drivers, smoking, people who are unable to put their phone down for a few minutes while we have dinner, and listening to the use of the word "like" 50 times in a sentence.

My current favorite show is Younger on TVLand. I feel like I'll be in exactly the same situation when I graduate next year.

If you read my blog, you'll find a sample of my online "personality". I have not posted in a bit, school is extremely busy and I take 18 hours or more when I can. I don't want to be 50 when I graduate!

Oh, and I truly do want world peace; may I have my Mr. Congeniality sash now?

Blog #1

Hi, my name is Itzel Garcia, I'm a neuroscience  major and I'm graduating this Fall, I'm pretty excited although I still have to stay and complete a Postbaccalaureate.  After I complete my postbaccalaureate, I'm planning on applying to Dental School, which is such a dream of mine. I'm so nervous!  I have a really sweet dog named Alke, an Australian Shephard, which is suppose to mean 'Courage'.  I work at the Residence Halls at UTD, which is a really cool job.

I really enjoy watching documentaries, exercising and doing really anything outdoors.  I don't watch very much TV, unless I know a good documentary or show is on.  I'm actually kind of obsess with "Friends" TV show, so I'm pretty excited they finally have it on Netflix.  I love Forensic shows and I follow the news pretty closely.  I follow almost every news paper or news media on Facebook, so strangely I sign on to Facebook mostly to look up news, I don't know why, but I love reading the news.  I greatly dislike online bullying, like people that sign on just to put other people down or judge others, I hate that.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Josh. I am finishing my degree in historical studies and will have 18 hours left after this summer. I started this many years ago but had to take time off because life happened along the way. I live in Allen with my wife, two children, and two dogs.

I like to watch a lot of sports on TV. I used to watch an embarrassing amount of baseball but over time have transitioned more into football. Outside of the games, I tend to watch too much sports media such as ESPN and the NFL Network. I have realized over the past year or so though that most news I see on TV is information that I have previously seen on twitter. It has got to the point where many of these news news shows actually cite twitter as a reference.

Most of the media that I routinely consume has been coming through twitter for the reasons that I mentioned above. I also seem to spend significant time on LinkedIn, which I use more for business purposes. I work for a national physician practice management organization as a physician recruiter and have done so for nearly 13 years now. It's a dynamic industry which also allows me to meet many interesting people from diverse backgrounds. I don't really watch  that much television and have transitioned into someone who tends to rely on twitter or even YouTube for media. When I do watch TV though, it tends to be something that has high entertainment and little social value such as Better Call Saul or even Orange is the New Black.

Blog Post #1 - About Me

Hello everyone J

My name is Leah. I am 22 and I am an EMAC student at UTD. I will be graduating next spring! I was born and raised in Rochester Minnesota. I started my college education at Winona State University but after a year I decided to take a break and work for a while. Two years ago I moved to Dallas to get a fresh start and get back into school. I went to Collin County Community College for a year and now I have been at UTD for a year.

I work for a marketing firm here in Richardson called Minerva Consulting. I mostly write social media but I am also learning a lot about PR. My job is really fun and it’s exactly what I'm going to school for. A little about myself, I really love sports and animals. I've been a gymnast my entire life and I even lived in Romania where I trained for awhile. Now I am a cheerleader at UTD and I love it. I have a dachshund named Tootsie Roll and she is the best dog ever. If I didn't live in a small apartment I would have a whole band of wiener dogs J

I am a huge consumer of online media. Because of my job, I am on social media and the Internet all the time. Although I use social media a lot for work, I am not super active on my own social media. I really like to scroll through the newsfeed on Facebook and see what’s going on; however, I do not post on my own page often. I am most active on Instagram. I love to record what is going on in my life through photos. When I get home from work and school I really enjoy watching TV (I may have a slight addiction to Netflix.) My favorite show is The Walking Dead and I can't wait for the next season!

I’m looking forward to learning more about everyone!

Blog Post #1: How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice ;)

Hi there! My name is Hannah. I'm 24 years old and an EMAC major at UTD. I was born in Dallas and other than venturing to Texas State University in San Marcos for a bit, I stuck around. I'm an only child, and I feel like it's worth mentioning because it has contributed to a lot of who I am. Not in a bad way (I hope), but in the sense that I feel like it has given me the opportunity to develop a creative mind, a special place in my heart for my friends, and a few other unique (nice word for weird) qualities.

I love animals, pretty cliche, but I really do. I have had pretty much every kind of pet, and I am a total cat lady at heart. If my wallet was as big as my love for cats, well, let's just say there's probably a good reason it isn't. I love adventures, exploring new places, meeting new people, it's so exhilarating. In addition to being a student here at UTD, I am a full-time nanny, for two different families. In one family I nanny for, there are two girls that are 11 and 13 years old. I have been with them since the girls were seven and nine, and at this point, I pretty much consider them family. I just recently started nannying for the other family, who have an eight-month-old, a three-year-old, and a six-year-old. They are a handful, but they are pretty precious.

Something else about me, I love to sing. I play a little piano as well, and your basic chords on the guitar, but singing is a passion of mine. I've done a couple shows here and there, but I just wish I had more time to do more. I use a lot of Sound Cloud to post my songs (www.SoundCloud.com/HannahMarieJones), as well as explore other music. My major involves a lot of media (Emerging media and communication), so I've been exploring a lot of media since I started here last fall. I will admit that I tend to avoid news media, as I feel like much of it is so corrupt. Obviously that's not the best way to handle it, as I do want to be informed; so I'm hoping that this class can help me learn to scope out the right stuff.

From what I have read so far, everyone seems pretty great, so I look forward to learning with you all!

Blog #1: Hey There!

Hello all my virtual peers, and Dr. Johnson of course!

My name is Jennyrayne Colangan, but I usually go by Jenny to make things easier. I am currently a senior EMAC student, and I am crossing my fingers dearly, in hopes that I will be graduating this fall. I was born in El Paso, TX, but spent 8 wonderful years of my childhood living between Jeddah, Dhahran, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My father was a military contractor who taught air-defense, which resulted in my family and I moving around a lot. Eventually, I ended back up in El Paso to live out my rebellious-angst-filled teen years. After that, I decided to move to Dallas for college, because living in El Paso really makes you feel like you're missing out on the rest of Texas--seriously, look up El Paso on the map, you'll understand.

Mainly though, I moved to Dallas because of the EMAC program, as I am interested in marketing/advertising, in both the design and analytical aspects. I also find it interesting in how those two effect the media, especially with the many outlets and platforms people are now able to consume from. Myself for instance, is a heavy consumer of media. No, I do not watch TV. No, I don't really watch movies and can't even name what's in theatre right now--unless it's a superhero movie, just saying--and I have yet to commit to a TV show. However, my mini-computer/cellphone is where I practically get all my media consumption; social media, news articles, videos, music, you name it.

I believe I enjoy media consumption more in the online world because of its interactivity and being able to witness other peoples views. To me, anything televised--especially news media--just seems to follow such a strict agenda setting, which can result in very biased opinions... cough... Fox News.

But anyway, I am looking forward to reading everyone's insights :)

Brief Description of Myself

My name is Marco Martinez, I was born in a very small town in Mexico. If you are interested the name is Cutzamala de Pinzon, good luck pronouncing it. At age 7  my sister brought me to the US to persue the American Dream. After living in Dallas for a few years we moved to other cities: Richardson, Wylie, and Plano, just to name a few. I met my wife at Plano East and have been married for 10 years. We are currently expecting a boy. I'am very exited to have my first child and of course to graduate from UTD. Here is a picture of my baby.

Most of the media I consume comes from the old fashion way, approximately a 53" black rectangle aka "television". Since I am bilingual most of the the media I watch is Univision and Telemundo, when I really get bored I like to watch FOX news just to see how angry the network is with President Obama.

Going back to watching FOX news, one of the things I dislike is how bad the media has become in criticizing other people. Instead of providing solutions to the problems, some media is just looking for any type of mistake from the opposite people to reveal it. One of the things I like is holidays, especially during Christmas and New Years when I don't have to worry about anything other than buying gifts for approximately 30 people. These people include brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews, and so on. But seriously I love spending time with my family and not worrying about anything else. Another thing I like is hot salsa, after every meal I also enjoy eating flaming hot cheetos.

There aren't any shows at this moment I enjoy, when I was younger I used to watch a lot of "Novelas".

Hello everyone!

My name is Wilson. I was born in Victoria, BC (Canada), where I lived until I was about eight years old. My family and I moved to San Francisco for my dad's job, and we stayed there until 2003 when we moved to the DFW area, and I've been here ever since!

Since I was seven, I have played the violin and been involved in many orchestras (in and out of school), and so naturally I thought I was going to major in music. With two auditions lined up during my senior year in high school, I realized that the orchestra life just wasn't for me. As much as I loved (and still love) music, I simply couldn't have it as a career. So, I pursued what I really wanted do: software development. This may seem like a strange (and drastic) switch, but it made sense to me; I had always loved computers, and my dad is a developer himself, so I guess it makes sense.

I used to be an avid tweeter and facebook (-er?), but now I mostly use social media to stay connected with family, famous people, tech, games, and so on. I guess I've lost the patience to Instagram my food before I consume it! Regardless, I still think it's a fantastic way to stay connected, and am always blown away by the power it can have... and the occasional disasters it leads to (Kony, anyone?). At the same time, I have come to realize that Twitter is actually a really great way to network from a career perspective, so I am desperately trying to get into the habit of using it more regularly.

My top shows right now are Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and House of Cards (I'm seriously banking on a fourth season). I'm always looking for new shows to binge on, however, so bring on the suggestions!

Hey everyone!

My name is Pryanka Sharma. I am a Neuroscience major at UTD and will be graduating in the Fall. I was originally born in New York but then moved down to Texas when I was still young, so I've lived in Dallas most of my life. I love Dallas, but my heart definitely belongs up North. I hope one day I can go back to live in New York or pretty much anywhere on the East Coast.

Since I love New York, I definitely like cold weather and snow. I was born in December so maybe that explains my attachment to the winter season! I like Neuroscience (obviously!), and I like working in my research lab because I like the idea that the research I do can make a difference in people's lives. I like exercising whether it be through playing sports or working out at the gym. I like to dance a lot; that's my favorite form of exercise!

I definitely do no like knuckle cracking. It is one of my biggest pet peeves! I don't like how hot Texas's weather can get during the summer. I also don't like how fast I feel my undergrad years have gone by, and I can't believe I am almost ready to graduate.

I don't watch much TV anymore unless I am interested in a specific show. Currently, my new favorite show is Younger, and it's on TVland. I have in the past been hooked on tv shows like House, Law&Order SVU, Gilmore Girls, and Friends.

I consume media primarily through internet and television. I feel like I use the internet most of the time. It's much easier for me to get to, and I always have access through it with my phone. In fact, I don't find myself using my laptop very much unless I need to do assignments for school because my phone is more convenient. I use Buzzfeed and Yahoo. However, I feel like I hardly use the media for any informative purposes. I should be more updated on current events, but I tend to be more interested in fashion trends and DIY links on Buzzfeed. Speaking of which, I use Youtube a lot to watch makeup tutorials or DIYS. I also like to Youtube different dance choreography by famous Youtube dancers.  I feel like it is so easy to be addicted to media these days, and it's one of the reasons I am on my phone so much.

Blog Post #1 - Introduction

Hello, friends!!!

I'm Micaela. I like to joke around that I'm a gypsy because I've moved around so much in my life, but I've actually managed to live in DFW for the past 2.5 years. I grew up in Alaska, so getting used to Texas has been an interesting adjustment (Can we just talk about how crazy the weather is?!). I'm a transfer student in the emac program and will hopefully graduate in December 2016. I recently got engaged and will be getting married in November! To say I'm very excited would be an understatement.

I would say I consume media in a moderate portions. Some days I go on overload and need a couple days to 'detox'. I randomly get an itch to research a specific topic and will dig and dig online until I find what I am looking for. It still blows my mind just how much information is out there and that we have access to it. I'm particularly passionate about storytelling. I enjoy social media and the powerful effect it can have on our society.

I love photography, being outdoors (ideally in the mountains), and business. I enjoy listening to podcasts when I'm driving and am always brainstorming new business ideas. I love personality tests and am obsessed with knowing people's Myers Briggs personality. I think that can be attributed to my love for people. There are few things I enjoy more than having a meaningful conversation with a new friend. One of my dislikes would be hateful and judgmental people. I seriously can't stand either.

I really look forward to 'getting to know' you all this semester!

Blog #1: Introduction

Hi!

My name is Sarah Wallace.  I am graduating this semester (WOOOO!) with a degree in Marketing.  Believe it or not, this is my third university to be at.  I originally started out at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi as a marine biology major.  After two weeks or so, I quickly found out that I am deathly terrified of the ocean and all the lovely things in it that can kill you. I changed my degree to Biomedical science in hopes to become a doctor. I spent a year and a half at Texas Woman's University working on my degree before deciding to change to marketing.  I loved science, but found it wasn't my passion.  Last summer I transferred into UTD because of their amazing business program and have loved it ever since.  I have finished all my classes for my degree, but needed two more hours to graduate from here.  This class really peaked my interest, so I'm hoping it will be of great use to me.

I'm very much a traveler.  I have lived on both the east and west coast of this beautiful country.  Originally, I'm from South Carolina (no I don't have a thick southern accent).  Ended up moving all the way across the country over a two week journey to the sunniest place on earth, Seattle.  After a couple years we ended up moving down to Texas.

Being a marketing person, I am very into media (hints the reason I chose to take this class).  Digital media is by far my favorite.  I like to know the deeper meanings to things.  Finding the hidden meanings and symbolism in the things we watch is a lot of fun.  It's interesting to say the least!

My favorite shows are Top Gear (the British version) and Elementary.  Something interesting to know about me is that BBC America is on at my house 99% of the time.

A Fat Polar Bear (Breaking the Ice)

Hey all!

My name's Garrett. I've lived in Dallas since the day I came to be, and don't see that changing anytime soon. I work at Chili's close to UTD, so hopefully if you've come in and come across me the experience wasn't all too awful and the food near decent. I just had jaw surgery two weeks ago today and currently spend my days fighting off dreams of burgers and steaks - still about four more weeks till those fantasies become a reality again. The worst of the experience rests far behind me though, let me just say that finding out anesthetics make you nauseous after being under for five hours doesn't make for a fun weekend.

A bit more about myself past facial reconstruction and work, however. I consider myself quite the nerd. I changed over to EMAC from Computer Science because it just wasn't a good enough fit for me (and too antisocial), but I still have a huge love for anything computer. I'm currently reading my way through the epic journey that is Lord of the Rings, and playing The Witcher 3 with what free time I can muster, so if you have a steam let me know or just give me an add - my name on there is aknifeandacoke.

When it comes to media, I for sure consume it in any and all forms. There's a weekly paper at my doorstep, I catch the news when I can, used to watch The Colbert Report (RIP), and of course stumble across it everyday digitally. With sites like Reddit, quick access news websites, and even Facebook avoiding media is hard to do. Let me say though, that currently I have the biggest pet peeve I've ever built up...and that is clickbait. Sites such as Buzzfeed and the like drive me insane. When I come across any link that goes along the lines of "Wow! I'm in tears after what this person did..." or the like I cringe a bit inside and look away. I fear that with this trend digital media is heading down a dark place!

I tend to keep a reserved face when it comes to participating in digital media and am much more a consumer then participator, but I'm hoping this course will change all that!

Blog #1: Greetings!

Hello, everyone! My name is Megan and I am majoring in Literary Studies and will graduate next spring. I am originally from Los Angeles California and moved to Texas about 9 years ago. My family and I like Texas a lot but I think I may want to move back eventually; I miss the mountains too much! It is definitely too flat here and the summers are way too hot and humid. I have been spoiled by gorgeous weather over there. We try to make a trip out there to see family and friends at least once a year.

I am very close with my family. I have one older brother and we have a great relationship. I am very thankful for the bond we share – I can tell him anything without judgment and we have a great sense of humor (at least, I like to think so J). I love crafts and can usually be found creating something from Pinterest or knitting. I also have a love for cats and have accepted my fate as a crazy cat lady.

My favorite show would have to be Lost. I completely binge watched the entire series last summer and I started re-watching it a few weeks ago. The music is fantastic. Michael Giacchino, the composer, is in my opinion, a musical genius. Something else I should throw out there is that I am really into music and could literally talk about it for hours. I’m pretty open to all sorts of music except country. I absolutely HATE it and I apologize to any of you I may have offended with that statement.

I’m pretty involved with media although I don’t post all that much on Facebook anymore but when I do, it's usually photos or relatable and silly Buzz Feed links. I am pretty obsessed with Instagram though. I have recently developed a passion for photography within the past few years and I always take time to snap a picture whenever I get the chance. It’s also fun to follow other photographers on the app and see their different styles of shooting and to get some ideas. I’m also pretty addicted to Netflix and was surprised and happy to see that it is a requirement for this class.

I’m excited for this class and can’t wait to read everyone’s intro posts! J

Hello everyone,

My name is Kaitlyn Hunter and I am a senior Sociology major at UTD. I grew up in Plano and currently live in Richardson. I have the cutest mini-dachshund puppy named Korby who is named after Corby Davidson on the Ticket which is one of my primary media sources. I listen to 96.7 The Ticket at all times of the day and I am a big 'P1'. I get a lot of my news information from there. I am also involved with facebook and instagram. What I like about facebook is how connected you can be with other sites by using facebook. For instance, on new websites, instead of creating a new account you can simply sign in using your facebook account which saves  a lot of time. What I do not like about facebook is the constant chaos of news stories that are shaky in their accuracy. I do not have cable or regular tv so I rely on Netflix and Hulu for my tv shows. I do not really like movies but I like my tv shows when I have time. My favorite cheesy show is Jane the Virgin. It is a show that plays on the traditional "Tela Novelas" (spelling?) and is very  entertaining. I also enjoy watching The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. As far as my "media" personality I do not post a lot on my facebook besides pictures of my friends and family. I am a bartender in Plano and a member of a private facebook group called 'Life Behind Bars". I interact with this group a lot seeing that many of us suffer the same occupational struggles. To break the ice I would say that if you are ever in need of good drinks and good food stop by Urban Rio where I work!

Talk to everyone soon,
Kaitlyn

Ice Breaker

Hello everybody, I am Whitney Worrell. This is my second year here at UTD and I will graduate in the spring of 2016 with a bachelors in EMAC. I have an extremely busy life, and when I am not attending classes I am at work, or out with my pups. I have work for DSW for two years now and am training to be a manger there. My current role in the store is as a trainer of new associates and new managers. When i'm not at work or at school I am outside either taking my pups to the dog park, or working out. My dogs and boyfriend are my life and my support system.

My likes are shopping, being outdoors, thrifting, and spending time with my pups.
My dislikes are that there aren't ever enough hours in the day to get everything done!

Fun Fact: I have made one of my pup's slightly “famous” on Instagram. Feel free to follow (maxdapper)

As far as how I consume media, interestingly enough as I get more emerged into the EMAC degree I have come to consume less media in my daily life. I have adopted a lifestyle where I only allow myself a certain amount of time to my media (other than for classes) so that I can focus. I get very distracted by media at times and when I do it is a downward spiral that I get sucked into. I have come to learn that I am somewhat more interested in the theory aspect of digital media and media as a whole, or at least at this point that is what I am most interested in.

Breaking the Ice: Blog 1

Here’s wishing everyone a productive and happy summer!  My name is Nancy Bouton.  I am an EMAC major and an employee of UTD. The campus may as well be my home, I spend so much time here and enjoy it.  My studies initiated in linguistics, particularly the study of foreign languages and culture.  During my studies, I took several photography courses and fell in love with that too.  I currently seek to merge the two passions somehow with my current studies.

I am a very curious person. I consume media to satisfy my urges to seek and understand life. My artistic and cultural background fuels this fire.  Life is spoken all around us in countless avenues of media.  My pursuit of these avenues starts with the road that leads to film, then photography and design.  The social psychological elements of media and its influences are incredibly intriguing to me. I am often teased for watching a film many times!  The questions I ask myself when watching a film are, “How do the characters in the film relate to each other?”, “Why did the producer use the particular style, color, angles, music, location for the film?”, “What intrigued the producer, personally, about the script so much that he/she chose to make a movie of it?”  These are just a few of the questions, I ask myself.  I wonder to what end media affects its viewers and how it plays a part in the life one lives.  What value it gives and for how long?

My likes; people are amazing!  Everyone intrigues me.  As an aspiring photographer, I try to find the uniqueness, and sometimes the commonalities of an individual in comparison to me and others. I feel that everyone gives off an individual signal of energy and I seek to translate it to into a photograph, through my lens; the result being a form of beauty!

My dislikes, running out of time, and diseases.

My favorite shows are several. I loved House!  I currently watch Vikings, Allegiance, House of Cards, Empire, Orphan Black, Game of Thrones and Reign.  I don’t possibly have he time to watch all of them so I am very thankful for the invention of the DVR!

I am excited to know each of you, if even through your writings. What color is your energy?

Happy summer everyone!

About me

My name is Walter Cajas, I was born in Guatemala, Central America. My parents and I moved to New York when I was 13 years old. Resided in New York from 1986 to 2007. Graduated High School in 1992. Due to personal reasons I had to let go school for 8 years. Came back and acquired a one year certificate in Graphic Design in 2000. After a few months I was blessed with a job as a graphic designer in the third biggest beer distributors in the country, Manhattan Beer Distributors. This is where I started my career as a graphic designer. In 2007 I was blessed with a Job offer by JCPenney Headquarters as a Graphic Design Specialist. I obviously took the offer and moved to Texas in February of that year. I have been working at JCPenney since then. Got promoted two years ago to Visual Retailing Senior Specialist.

When I moved to Texas I wanted to continue my education and went ahead to transfer my credits to Collin County Community College and to my surprise my credits were not accepted. This didn't stop me from moving towards my goal. I had to start from scratch again. I finally received my Associates from Collin County Community College in the Summer of 2013 and have continued my education at UTD since then. I have accumulated 15 credits towards my Bachelors degree in Emerging Media and Communication in the last two semesters and my ultimate goal is a PHD in this exiting field.

I try to take advantage of the media as much as possible in order to get to where I want to be. I feel the Internet is a treasure of information and everything you need to know is mostly available for free. I love this aspect of the media. However I dislike how some people do not take advantage of this tools for a good cause, but rather to destroy and do harm.

I don't know if I have a favorite show, but I do have a favorite sport event I watch on TV and that is the World Cup Soccer which takes place every four years. I have been watching this event since 1982 and haven't missed one yet. I love commercials.

I am a creative and visual individual and consider that shapes, colors and photography are a big part of my life, this is why I used to spent every weekend at the Metropolitan Museum of Art sketching dresses out of famous paintings. I have design three Book covers for a famous Book writer here in Texas Dallas. My hobby has been photography and I guess this opens the door to anyone who would love to know more about me.

Welcome to COMM 3300 Reading Media Critically.

Each week I will post the blog assignments to the class web site as well as email the week's assignments. By the end of the semester you should have 8 blog posts. Two posts per chapter.

Each post will have different directions and criteria. Pay attention.

You will TAG each of your posts by your FIRSTLASTNAME (for example Janet Johnson)

At the end of the semester your blog posts will be graded holistically on the criteria of content and quality.

Most importantly: HAVE FUN!
