Blog Assignment for Week 3

Blog #3

Share with a class an observation about the media this week. Hone your media critic skills! Post should be between 150-250 words. You may use photos, or embed video, etc. 

Blog #4

Watch ANY episode of Orange is the New Black and apply the Marxist theory to the episode. Same as the semiotics blog post: Write a 250 word Marxist analysis about the episode. You can share your table with the class. The table is the same, just list the Marxist concepts to the table. One note about the Textual Analysis Table: You don't have to talk about EVERYTHING. You list out the concepts and study your media artifact CLOSELY. You should find that the table helps you find the dominant features in the text.  Find a research article to incorporate into your blog post about jail culture. 

• Pay attention to details such as proofreading your work. Quality counts--ALWAYS in a WRITING class.
• TAG your posts with your names-- if no tags, no credit for your blog post because when I grade, I am clicking on the TAGS to find your all your blog postings. I'm not searching the blog to find you. So, be sure to create a LABEL.
