Hello, friends!!!
I'm Micaela. I like to joke around that I'm a gypsy because I've moved around so much in my life, but I've actually managed to live in DFW for the past 2.5 years. I grew up in Alaska, so getting used to Texas has been an interesting adjustment (Can we just talk about how crazy the weather is?!). I'm a transfer student in the emac program and will hopefully graduate in December 2016. I recently got engaged and will be getting married in November! To say I'm very excited would be an understatement.
I would say I consume media in a moderate portions. Some days I go on overload and need a couple days to 'detox'. I randomly get an itch to research a specific topic and will dig and dig online until I find what I am looking for. It still blows my mind just how much information is out there and that we have access to it. I'm particularly passionate about storytelling. I enjoy social media and the powerful effect it can have on our society.
I love photography, being outdoors (ideally in the mountains), and business. I enjoy listening to podcasts when I'm driving and am always brainstorming new business ideas. I love personality tests and am obsessed with knowing people's Myers Briggs personality. I think that can be attributed to my love for people. There are few things I enjoy more than having a meaningful conversation with a new friend. One of my dislikes would be hateful and judgmental people. I seriously can't stand either.
I really look forward to 'getting to know' you all this semester!
This weather has been absolutely insane! Although, when it's 100+ outside, I'll be wishing it was this again. I love nature photography (like in the mountains) but you have to travel to get those photos.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your engagement!
I'm glad to know you feel the same about the weather and share a love for photography!!
DeleteAlso, thank you so much for the 'congrats'! :)
Hey, Micaela! Congrats on getting engaged! I love listening to podcasts too; especially when I'm at work and sitting in my cubicle. If you're into crime/politics, you should check out the Serial podcast if you haven't already. I found myself zoning out at work while listening to it because it was so good! That's probably a bad thing to admit and hopefully my employer doesn't read this!
ReplyDeleteMegan,
DeleteThank you for the 'congrats'! I have heard about Serial and have yet to listen to it! If you zone out at work listening to it, it must be good! I'll have to check it out.
That's so awesome that you have gotten to live so many places. My good friend and I always call ourselves gypsies just because we love to explore and go every new place we can :)... Also, congrats on getting engaged!
ReplyDeleteYeah, growing up I didn't appreciate it, but now I do! I wouldn't have had it any other way. :) Thank you for the congrats!!
DeleteAlso, I am the same way with the hateful and judgmental people thing..
ReplyDeleteAnd I spend A LOT of time in the car and I love podcasts too... I am just now getting into them though, do you have any that you would recommend?
I cannot believe you moved from Alaska to Texas! I moved from pretty average temperatures in Mexico and I could barely breath in the summer, I though I was going to suffocate from the heat, you're my hero!
