As I was reviewing different stories in the media this week one thing really stood out to me. That is, with all that is happening in the world I am amazed with what can actually be a headline. Just this week there were murders, gun control debates, and even an unveiling of a presidential candidate's tax plan. Along with these, Tiger Woods is still making headlines. The interesting part about this is that he is still a headline, but for his continued lackluster performance.  At one time he was the best in the world at golf. Now, he is hardly competitive in the major events. This shows how fixated the sports community has become on him and even a level of ambivalence from non-sports fans. Since the news of his infidelity came out several years ago, his golfing performances have steadily declined but the attention hasn't. At this point, the media just continues to highlight his average rounds of golf and has made him into a negative caricature. These headlines seem to continue just to make him look worse and worse, like the media wants him to pay for how he treated women in the past.
