Blog Post 6

Once upon a time long, long ago there was a princess with a complexion as white as bone, cherrywood hair and eyes as green as the spring leaves. She was beautiful, and she knew it. Although she was a princess, she was an outcast. Her only friend a wolf pup she rescued when she was just a girl. The princess was lonely. She had no one. Frequently the princess would sneak out into the woods just beyond the castle walls with her pup to collect fresh herbs. With these herbs she would make her father the most delicious teas that anyone could ever imagine. One day when she was creeping back beyond the castle walls with her freshly picked herbs she caught a glimpse of a handsome older gentleman being drug through the massive doors. This was a man she deemed as beautiful as she. She burst through the doors to her fathers throne chamber just in time to hear he father exclaiming “take him to the dungeon”. She stared into the mans eyes as they drug him off. The man had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. She snuck down to the dungeon to see him. There were no guards. They had planned on leaving him there to rot. She peered through the bars at a distance and caught a glimpse of the mans eyes once again. She could not resist anymore, and went and outreached her hand to the man. Neither of them said a word, yet as soon as their fingertips met there was a surge of energy that ran through the princesses body. At that moment she realized that she had known this man. He was her fathers jester. She had never seen him without his makeup and costume on. They finally spoke. The reason her father had thrown the man into the dungeon was because he had expressed that he wanted the princesses hand in marriage. The king had felt dishonored by this request and sent his Jester to rot in the dungeon. The princess was infuriated. This beautiful man seemed to love her, and her father sent him to die without her ever knowing. Since no one ever came to check on the man the princess would visit him daily, and the first time they ever shared a kiss they were in love. The two lovers devised a plan to be together. The princess went out to pick herbs and when she got home she brewed up a special tea to sooth her fathers nerves. She took the tea to the throne room and handed it to her father. Her eyes glittering, beaming with hatred. She watched on as her father took the first sip of the tea. The princess watched on as her father stopped breathing. She then went down to the dungeon and set her love free. She did it all in the name of love, and felt no remorse. And that is how a jester became king of the kingdom and they lived happily ever after.

  1. I liked your fairy tale. Good use of descriptors!

  2. Good fairy tale, although I would have preferred for the princess and the "joker" to run away and start their own kingdom. :(
